Frequently Asked questions

What is Hemp?

Hemp is a variety of the cannabis plant that is dominant in its CBD content and contains less than 0.3% THC.

Hemp is a very versatile crop that is grown for its fiber, flower, and seeds.

Hemp can be used to make a variety of products, including: textiles, paper, food, building materials, bioplastics, biofuels, and medicine.

What is CBD?

CBD is a naturally occurring compound or phytocannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. It’s gained popularity for its variety of benefits. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that will NOT get you high. CBD is the most abundant cannabinoid in hemp plants.

What is the difference between Hemp & Marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana are both varieties or breeds of cannabis. Hemp is CBD dominant with less than 0.3% THC, while marijuana is THC dominant with little amounts of CBD. Hemp is federally legal while marijuana is still federally illegal. However, they both look and smell identical to each other.

How much CBD should I take?

Due to differences in metabolism, weight, tolerance, and other factors, everyone responds differently to CBD.

A good starting dosage is 10-20 mg taken consistently for 3-5 days, then increased incrementally if needed.

Those with more severe conditions may start at higher dosages, adjusting the dosage until desired effects are achieved.

Finding the optimal dosage often requires patience as the CBD gets to work in your system.

Refer to the dosage guide on the side of our CBD Oil packaging for serving sizes and milligram dosages.

Will CBD cause me to fail a drug test?

If you anticipate a drug test, it is important to be aware of the different types of CBD products and how they may affect your results.

Full spectrum CBD products contain trace amounts of THC, the psychoactive compound in Cannabis that is NOT safe for drug screenings and can result in a positive test for THC.

Broad spectrum CBD products contain all of the Cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant except for THC, which is safe for consumption for  THC drug screenings.

CBD isolate products only contain CBD and no other Cannabinoids, making it a safe product for potential THC drug tests.

Consult with your company’s HR department, your doctor, etc. if you are concerned about a drug test.

How is it legal?

CBD is legal in the US because it comes from hemp, a cannabis variety with under 0.3% THC.

The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, legalizing hemp and hemp-derived products for the first time in almost one hundred years.

Will CBD get me high?

No. Our CBD oil will not get you high. This is because our products have trace concentrations of THC, less than the legally required 0.3%. This means that you can enjoy the effects of CBD without feeling high or euphoric as with a higher THC product. We also test our Pure products internally and use third-party testing to ensure you safely enjoy your CBD experience.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

CBD interacts with your Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is responsible for regulating things like sleep, pain, stress, hunger, and more. We have naturally occurring cannabinoids in our bodies, and CBD is a phyto-cannabinoid ("phyto" meaning from plants) that helps support that system that's already in place. Did you know that everyone has one of these- even our pets do! This is why dogs and cats may benefit from our CBD too.

When should I try CBD?

CBD is generally well tolerated for daily use. You can always start with a smaller dose (half a gummy or half the dropper amount for a tincture) and then work up to a higher one.

Many users take CBD in the morning before work to ease into the day while others take it before bed to get a good night’s sleep. Check out our selection of CBD products to find one tailored to your specific needs!

There are essentially two categories of CBD products: topicals and ingestibles. Ingestible products are the most popular CBD products and include tinctures, gummies, and beverages. Our topical products range from roll-ons and massage oils to salves and balms.

Will cbd show up on a drug test?

This is one of the most common questions that people ask BATCH. Can I fail a drug test from taking a full-spectrum CBD product? What if I accidentally take too much? Will I get high? You can see how paranoia stemming from online rumors and misconceptions can be a major obstacle to overcome before considering CBD as a viable path along your wellness journey.

The reality is that it’s very unlikely that you would ever fail a drug test due to CBD use, especially under normal usage circumstances. Although full-spectrum CBD products include trace amounts of THC, all reputable sellers ensure their products meet the federal guidelines of containing less than 0.3% THC by weight. This ensures that the product could never get you high. That being said, never buy CBD products from a brand or store that doesn’t offer lab results for their products.

Although it technically is possible to fail a drug test due to CBD, it is unlikely even under extreme circumstances (regularly consuming 100+ mg daily for multiple months). Nevertheless, at PURE we would recommend not consuming CBD if you must pass a drug test.

Topical CBD products, like lotions or balms, are applied directly to your skin and are not ingested orally. With these, there is no risk of failing a drug test because the cannabinoids in the product do not enter your bloodstream. Rather, they stay in the two layers of skin closest to the surface: the epidermis and dermis. Despite not being absorbed into the users bloodstream, CBD topical products can provide targeted relief for a number of ailments.

is it legal?

Yes! CBD is considered legal in most states due to the 2018 Farm Bill. This bill was introduced to specify how much hemp was deemed legal to use. Anything under 0.3% THC is considered legal to possess, sell, and consume. However, any product over 0.3% THC is still considered to be marijuana and is federally illegal.

It’s important to check your state guidelines to better understand how your state classifies CBD products in relation to the legal percentage of products containing THC.

If a CBD product is over 0.3% THC then it is classified as a Schedule III controlled substance according to the FDA. This means that anything over that amount is not federally legal, and the regulation goes state by state then.

The Hydrate is a THC-Free product, making it safe for consumption if subject to drug screenings!

The Buzzin' Berry Seltzer contains THC and will show up on drug tests. Drink responsibly.

Will CBD get my pet high?

The quick response? No. CBD is not a psychoactive substance and does not give regular house pets highs. But that doesn't mean that dogs can't get high. If you choose to give pets marijuana products, you must ensure that they are free of THC.

Ingesting hemp products that contain psychoactive components (i.e. THC), can always have adverse effects if you are not careful. Animals, especially dogs and cats, have more cannabinoid receptors in their bodies than humans do. Because of this, they are more susceptible to the effects of THC and should be monitored closely. It is also important to follow dosage guidelines to ensure that your pet has a pleasant experience.

Which CBD products should I try?

Topicals
Used on the body for localized support, people choose topicals for their benefits without ingesting the CBD. This method is best with repeated use.
Gummies
These are often a good option for people who dislike the taste of CBD, or who prefer it to be pre-dosed.
Beverages
Alcoholic alternatives that give you natural relief. Beverages kick in fast (within 20 minutes) and last for about an hour, offering another way to get the benefits of CBD.
