What is Hemp?

What is CBD?

CBD is a naturally occurring compound or phytocannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. It’s gained popularity for its variety of benefits. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that will NOT get you high. CBD is the most abundant cannabinoid in hemp plants.

What is the difference between Hemp & Marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana are both varieties or breeds of cannabis. Hemp is CBD dominant with less than 0.3% THC, while marijuana is THC dominant with little amounts of CBD. Hemp is federally legal while marijuana is still federally illegal. However, they both look and smell identical to each other.

How much CBD should I take?

Due to differences in metabolism, weight, tolerance, and other factors, everyone responds differently to CBD.

A good starting dosage is 10-20 mg taken consistently for 3-5 days, then increased incrementally if needed.

Those with more severe conditions may start at higher dosages, adjusting the dosage until desired effects are achieved.

Finding the optimal dosage often requires patience as the CBD gets to work in your system.

Will CBD cause me to fail a drug test?

If you anticipate a drug test, it is important to be aware of the different types of CBD products and how they may affect your results.

Full spectrum CBD products contain trace amounts of THC, the psychoactive compound in Cannabis that is NOT safe for drug screenings and can result in a positive test for THC.

Broad spectrum CBD products contain all of the Cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant except for THC, which is safe for consumption for THC drug screenings.

CBD isolate products only contain CBD and no other Cannabinoids, making it a safe product for potential THC drug tests.

Consult with your company’s HR department, your doctor, etc. if you are concerned about a drug test.

How is it legal?

CBD is legal in the US because it comes from hemp, a cannabis variety with under 0.3% THC.

The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, legalizing hemp and hemp-derived products for the first time in almost one hundred years.

What is THC?

THC is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive ingredient in the cannabis plant. It’s whats responsible for the euphoric and giggly effects when you smoke marijuana or eat an edible.

Will THC get me high?

Yes. Just like alcohol, THC can be pleasurable in lower doses. However over consumption can lead to unwanted side effects. Responsible consumption is advised for an enjoyable experience. THC can be very therapeutic and relaxing and has been proven to reduce chronic pain, nausea, and other ailments like PTSD.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

CBD & THC interact with your Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is responsible for regulating things like sleep, pain, stress, hunger, and more. We have naturally occurring cannabinoids in our bodies, THC and CBD are phyto-cannabinoid ("phyto" meaning from plants) that helps support that system that's already in place.

When / how should I try thc?
